An algorithm is a concept in computer programming that refers to the steps that characterize a process, as well as the rules guiding these steps. Ordinarily, algorithms take the form of logical sequences shown in an organized representation (such as a flow chart). And the express purpose of these sequences is to reveal the process of solving a problem.

The primary application of algorithms in the blockchain and cryptocurrency ecosystem is in the simplification of tasks and strategies. Having the algorithm of a trading bot, for example, allows you to create it and even make adjustments to its operation.

All or none order (otherwise known as an AON) refers to a common financial principle where a trader deliberately sets the number of orders to be filled per transaction. In the case of AON, the trader sets the highest possible order volume (all) and the lowest possible (none), effectively instructing the trading algorithm to only buy or sell stocks when the entire order can be filled.

If, for example, a trader implements an AON order for 50 units of a token X selling at $10 per unit, the trading algorithm will buy only 50 units of X only when the price reaches $10. An airdrop is a digital process whereby crypto assets are allocated to the users on a particular network or crypto exchange platform. This allocation mechanism is often based on set parameters. The most common parameter for airdrops is ownership or possession of particular tokens (often the crypto exchange platform’s native token). Another common qualification for airdrops is evidence of wallet activity, which is often represented by a functioning address.

Airdrops are generally used to boost the popularity or use of a token or platform. Thus, they are the most common asset-distribution method during ICOs (initial coin offerings). Moreover, receivers are not charged for airdrops and there is no limitation as to the number of users that can be on the receiving end of these processes.
