Linux is one of the most popular operating systems (OSes) at present, along with Windows and MacOs. The system is built as a computer kernel, with modifiable components to allow users develop programs without restrictions. Moreover, the OS is light compared to Windows and MacOS, and therefore promotes fast computer processing.

Linux is popular for a number of reasons. One, it is free of charge. Secondly, users have access to its source code, meaning that they have greater leverage to build systems of their own. The only minus to using the Linux OS is that it is kernel-like, so it requires additional tools to use efficiently, unless the user has sophisticated programming/coding knowledge.

Liquidity is simply the ease of exchanging assets for cash in such a way that the market price of these assets are not affected. Ideally, the liquidation process involves the selling of the assets to other buyers, once again, without causing fluctuations in market prices. Thus, market liquidation refers to a market’s security against price fluctuations in the event that a specific fraction of assets must be sold off.

Liquidity is a paramount characteristic of both fiat and crypto exchanges. It is essentially the ease with which a trader or investor can get out of the trading market without getting any less than their available balance.

The Lightning Network is the most popular example of a Layer 2 solution built on bitcoin (and litecoin) for better system processing and scalability. Built over an existing blockchain system, the Lightning Network serves as a complementary framework which allows user transactions to be executed significantly faster than on the original blockchain system. This is because it relies on user-generated channels to increase transactions across involved nodes.

Even though the Lightning Network as a Layer 2 solution is somewhat semi-independent, it still borrows the stability of the underlying system to be effective and relevant.
